My First Queen came in today

I recently reported on a Queen Dan Burke that also had rather sub-standard blades. It's taken me over two hours to get a decent edge on the two trapper blades. And I do notice an ever slightly wave pattern alongside on of the blades.

In the future I'll just stick to the knives that I have always found perfectly flawless each time. That's the Bose knives. I know it's unfair to compare one to the other, but I'll just save my bucks for the tried and true.

I am fine with it, in fact I am looking at it right now and it has it's first good scratch on one of the bolsters from being carried and used a little today. It's a keeper for sure.

The blades are pretty straight. You can still see a bow in that Spey blade, but it does not rub, and is only noticable when closed, so I don't mind. I bought it to carry and use, not as a museum peice.
I am curious though why these blades almost looked like they were forged or something. They don't look "clean cut" like you would expect a stamped blade to look. The grinds, or swedges?, on the spine of the clip blade are uneven and even thoough it is straight when you look down the spine it looks a little bent. It just looks more hand made than a Case for example. Not necessarily a bad thing at all, gives it character.

Both blades Walk and Talk real nice. The pull is medium to medium-light and I like that. The springs are not flush on the half stop though, is that typical?

The clip blade on mine is flush, but the spey blade isn't. Didn't even notice till you mentioned it though.

Sounds like you found a good one in the end (or at least a keeper!). Glad you are enjoying it, that's the important part :D
