Darn,

I just received my first RAT knife, an RC-4, and it is the wrong color - ordered Desert Tan, got a Black Blade. :(

I'm bummed out, I had taken quite awhile to decide on which color, and who to order it from, etc. and now I have to deal with shipping it back and waiting some more.

I'm not going to be happy if I have to pay return shipping!

I was planning on using it this coming three day weekend, but I guess that ain't going to happen.

I am pleased, however, with the quality of the knife I did receive. RAT definately does a good job.:thumbup:

you might just post a want to trade and see if anyone has a black one that they'd swap you straight across.

Seems like an awful lot of dealers have been messing up orders recently.
I am about to order an RC-5 and I'd like to avoid any problems. Maybe you guys can post where you have had success and or failures with orders. Thanks.:)
Or is that better suited for FGB&U?

Post the name of the dealer that screwed up, so no one else has to go through the agony.

Ya I don't know why 3 of us in the last week or so got wrong colors when I have been lurking for a month and saw no other complaints about it.

That sucks. Sure glad Dale @ Knife connection got my 3 Rats all the right color. Guess it's really only 2 because the Hest only comes in one color?? :) Maybe the dealers should start compensating with Rat/Ant patches :). I mean if they wanna keep you business?? Whats a patch? But I guess you already checked if you made the right order?? I've wanted one color and order another color. But was able to swap. Not a knife but still online ordering.

man, that does suck. I ordered from Cumberland Knife Works, hope it ships soon.

I am not sure, but I think we were the dealer that screwed up.

It happens. I am very sorry.

We will pay the shipping back to us. In fact, if you want to use the knife this weekend, then ship it back, we'll swap it out for you and give that one away in a drawing.

Again, sorry for the mixup.

Wow!

I have ordered from knifeworks.com, and knivesShipFree.com . Both companies have been right on the mark.... great prices, fast shipping, awesome customer service. I would highly recomend either.
An occasional mistake will happen, thats just part of life.
Keep up the good work Derrick.

Derrick & Wendy are top notch folks! My first RAT purchase was made through them, had some bad things happen that was NOT in any way their fault, yet they still made it right even though they didn't have to.

I'm a customer for life!

BTW, I've also had good luck with Lisa @ Two Wolves Outdoors and have heard good things about Dale @ The Knife Connection.

Derrick stepped up to the plate thinking that it was their mistake and wants to make it right if it is. Just goes to prove what kind of company he runs. I have nothing but good comments about my experience with KSF. KSF can expect my future business and I will recommend them whenever I can.

Paying for shipping and loaning the knife for the holiday weekend then giving it away in a drawing after exchange. Guess that's almost better than a patch :)

It is odd that there have been several mix ups lately. At least you're dealing with superior customer service. People are human and humans make mistakes.

Me too! I come from a long customer-service background and know that no matter how dilligent you are, things do get fouled up from time to time. It is how you make it right that is often the real test of service. I don't think you could ask for better than this!!
