My first SAK!

Well, this site has influenced me to actually try out a Swiss Army Knife. I tend to prefer other traditionals, but for some reason the SAK Farmer was calling to me. Looking on SAKWIKI and ALOXWORLD, reading threads, I decided I had to have a Black Farmer. I found that they were sold in Italy, but not in the US. I found a place to order and have it shipped... it took a few weeks, but it arrived yesterday!

BUT Wait!!!! There's more!!! Is this really my first SAK? It was the first I ordered, but while I waited, I decided I wanted a smaller one for opening bottles.... and some way to lanyard it so I could wear it around my neck while sitting by a bonfire drinking beers. So, I ordered a Red Alox Cadet!!!

BUT Wait!!!! There's more!!! I found a classic in a local hardware store before receiving any of the other two SAKs.... $11? Heck yeah I bought it.

So, I ordered the Farmer First, Cadet Second, and bought the Classic last.... yet I recieved them in the opposite order.

BUT Wait!!!! There's more!!! Not long ago. I posted up about my first knife and having lost it. I remember it having the Victorinox logo, but it had dark or wood handles which did not match anything I found about SAK history. Some here suggested it may have been a clone.... I can't argue that as I have found no knife that matches what I remember.

So, I have no clue what my first SAK was. Here's a picture of what I have though:

But that's what a Rambler is for!

;) Seriously, though. That's a great trio of knives you got yourself. Victorinox puts out an outstanding product, for sure.

Try a Vic Harvester, it is like the Farmer, but the can opener is replaced by a hawkbill blade ;-), it's my favorite.

Very nice choices, I have all of those. The farmer is my favorite, has all the most useful to me tools. I use it a lot when camping.

Nice! Great SAK representation to your traditional collection for sure.

Good stuff you picked up. I love the alox knives. I've gotten lots of good use from this black soldier.

I have a black Classic SD on my keychain. Impressive little thing if you ask me and a good choice. The farmer looks great aswell although I don't have any experience with it.

The Farmer is a great choice, best option in regards to the Alox models. I've had a couple black Pioneers, a blue Farmer, and a blue Classic. The dye/paint on the Classic and Farmer have worn off to the point that there are now just blue markings on the alox. The pioneers have been given as gifts, my last one was lost in my accident along with my LM Wave.

You'll like the Alox, I have a Pioneer, Farmer, Cadet and a few Classics all in Alox, as for the others, about 15 in all, I think the Victorinox SAKs were actually my first knife collection.

I have a Cadet II Plus (micro-farmer) that I really like. It's a two bladed Cadet with a saw that I got from SwissBianco. Love the Farmer.
