First I would like to thank all of your for your support. I was reluctant to share one of my first scrimshaws, but after those kind words, here goes. The college that I work for started a fund-raiser last year to raffle off an Orange County Chopper. To help kick off the raffle, I suggested a scrimshawed knife as a promotion. I made a rough draft and scrimshawed an old 507. The idea did not go very far, but everyone seemed to like the knife.
Hope you like the pics. Sorry they are not too clear.

Tom,
It looks like you have the talent for a second career should you tire of your current one.

My Grandmother was a very good artist and painted great landscapes. I can't do it, but my youngest daughter is an amazing artist. She likes to draw in Anime and Manga (two Japanese styles of cartooning). The detail she puts in her drawings is absolutely amazing, but I can't draw stick figures.

Stay with it.........those look better than a lot of the stuff I have seen for sale. I think you have the talent! Keep up the great work, and show us more pictures!.

We're honored, Tom, that you show your great first work here. Again, thanks for being a part of the forum.

Tom,
If you need more practice I know where I can get about a dozen un-scrimmed knives for you. :D Course I would want them back when done. :p
Wish I had that kind of talent but as someone else here may have said.
I cant draw a straight line with a ruler.
Thanks for sharing
