My First Sebbie!

Just opening it and closing it many many times and it will see like a different knife. It can take awhile but it will happen. It would have taken longer if the blade was damascus.

Congrats on your new knife.

Just make sure when doing assembly not to do it like a sandwich. Put the scales together and then slide the blade in with the washer and pivot bushing all together.

Why would that matter? I actually did it sandwich style. Figured this ensured i could see everything and wasn't going to pinch a washer. Doing it the other way also seemed like it could put unnecessary stress on the screws by pulling the scales apart while screwed in.

I guess you can get lucky doing it that way but there always a chance on the washer slipping of while putting on the front scale. The other way is just pretty fool proof and you really can't pinch a washer. Apostlep on YouTube has a good video on 21 take down and assembly.

Would you definitely know if you pinched a washer? Could I have pinched a washer and not know it? I'm assuming there would be very noticeable signs? Now you have me wondering if I need to disassemble to make sure everything is good! lol

I've never had one with a pinched washer but if center is good and it is smooth then you should be alright. I've always just read to do it that way and it's always worked well.

Ive read that Chris Reeve used to have on there website the correct way to assemble a Sebenza. Ive seen posts and Youtube videos showing the "sandwich" way to assemble. In fact I only did it that way because it was the first one I stumbled across. Are there people who prefer this method? Why?
