It's 154cm, .085" thick. OD Micarta handle with stainless pins and tube. 9.5" OAL, 4.75" blade. Full flat grind and wicked sharp. I also made the sheath. It's my first, so it's a little rough.

Nice job. Sheath is really nice.

Most skinners that will be used to actually skin an animal don't need a long blade. It needs to be maneuverable in tight places while skinning. Short, thin, and sharp are the key words. A tip is required, but it does not need to be extra pointy. Ergonomics in the handle/blade configuration is important. Look at some photos of real working skinners to get a feel for what I am saying.

Thanks alot guys! I feel like it turned out pretty good. It actually started life as a commissioned piece. My wife's friend asked me to make it for her husband and her only direction was that he had a Schrade sharpfinder and he always wanted a larger version. So this is what I came up with. It wasn't until much later that she came to me, very apologetic saying she wanted to go a different direction with a knife for her husband. I went ahead and finished this, thinking I might be able to sell it.
