My last impulse buy was when stock-piling Camillus made yellow handled Moore Makers at my local farm store. The whole time I was telling myself "this is your last chance-------they're not making these any more." The store owner thought I was nuts.

Congrats. My first was a Boker Tree Brand large gaucho in high carbon. Pretty decent knife and quite large. Took some reprofiling but today it's one of my favorites. Just picked up my second Sodbuster a couple of weeks ago, a Queen Country Cousin from DLT Trading Company (unfortunately I see that their price just increased by about $6 since my order). It too had a pretty crappy edge and took some time to get right but now she's razor sharp and I love those little yellow scales. My favorite of this type by far.

I swapped off a full sized Case yellow sodbuster with CV steel a year or so ago, and have kinda regretted it ever since.

I got a knife worth considerably more money, but I never use it.

The soddie found its way into my pocket pretty regular.

Monetary value isn't always the best indicator of a good trade.

both of mine were impulse buys. One (Kissing Crane) I bought from an online store to round out an order and get free shipping, and one (Case CV) I nabbed at Ace Hardware as an advance reward for completing whatever project I was about to start!

And now I realize I need a large Boker and a Queen, and probably a few others

I tried to order a yellow CV Sodbuster Jr, but out of stock and it did not allow backorder on Mon. special.

You were right.

I needed a yellow one. Got the Queen Country Cousin in D2. As someone else mentioned elsewhere on BF, the blade shape on the Queen is slightly different than the Case's. I think I prefer the Queen blade.
