This was my first knife I made on my own.

Please offer your comments and suggestions for a relatively new knife maker.

All previous things I had done were started by my Dad, and I finished. I finally got around to catching the knifemaking bug for myself.

Thats great, how about some specs, thickness, type of steel, type of wood, what have you cut so far beside your fingers?

It's made from 1095 and flat ground with brass hardware.
HT'd in a gas forge.
I don't remember what the wood is, other than it is a stabilized wood.

I've been pleased with the slicing ability of the knife cutting route and pumpkins.

I'm planning on putting a patina on the blade when I get a chance. When I sketched the design I was picturing an old style knife.

I think you made a good knife for your first "solo flight".

Are you left handed maybe? I notice that your sheath is made that way.

Paul, guilty as charged.

If/when I get to the point where I start selling knives, I will have to remember to make right handed sheathes.
