My First Spring Gobbler!!!!!

Roger, I would love to share with you some of the mistakes I made that
prevented me from getting the gobbler, and some answers that I found. The first year I tried it I got one. I was thrilled, but this initial success kept me doing the same things wrong over and over for two years without getting a shot. The main problem is getting your bow back. If you want to discuss this subject, let me know. I warn you thought, most people do not want to get me started talking turkey hunting. Yes, I did use a modern compound bow. I loved hunting with a recurve bow, but not on turkeys, my effective range is too short on turkey sized game.

Don,

You bet; email me your phone number and most convenient times of day or evening for you. I doubt I will be using the bow this spring because I do not know if I can get to the camp before the season is over to check it and the arrows tuning.

I have killed a grouse with my Onieda Black Eagle and 12 deer so I think I'm okay to 30 yards on turkey size targets. Getting the draw back on turkey would be a trick if it does not slip behind a blind. It's hard enough just to raise and point a shot gun.

Thanks; Roger

Those Black eagles are smooth,I shot oneidas for about 10 years
man have they came long way.You have a keeper bow there.
Killing a gobbler with the bow is a challange, good thing they can't smell like a deer or we would never kill one:D ;)

Nathan,

I really like the Black Eagle. Mine started out as a Stealth Eagle. Two seasons ago I had CP Onieda convert it to Black Eagle. Much better bow now.

Roger

Hi Roger,
Check your mail. There is no doubt in my mind that you can hit a
gobbler with your bow. You just have to find ways to get him in range
and get your bow back, so that you can take good aim and nail him.
