My First Spyderco Experience (PM2 review and from a long time Benchmade fan):

I tried what you suggested, and you are right. However; a spring loaded oven door hinge cut the tip of my left thumb off a while back. Everything has grown back, but the thumb nail isn't as strong as it was. Doing it your way cuts my thumbnail up.

I will recommend your method to others, but it won't work for me.

That's a bummer. Well then stick your forefinger finger nail into the other side of the hole. Just as fast and at least as much fun. ;)

I use my middle finger, kind of like violently (lol) flipping someone off, works great on both my Tenacious and my Para2. Seriously, my Para2 is one of my smoothest knives, and has been so right out of the box.

I realize this is kind of off topic for this thread but I found myself perplexed when the Para got super high marks for ergonomics. Honestl as someone who briefly

owned a Para 2 I can say that it is an awesome knife, but there is a good reason I did trade it. In my opinion the ergonomics on the Para 2 are not equal to that of

my Byrd Cara Cara (1st gen). This is probably something that just applies to me but I find the little choil on the Para 2 to be rather obnoxious. When doing a chest

lever part of my finger actually touched blade, and I thought the blade had too much belly. So while I think that the Para2 is a good knife I think that if they took the

Cara 2 platform and applied their technology from the Para2 they would make a awesome knife.

This is our course simply my opinion, but I do think these are legitimate details that should be addressed. A good finger choil should be able to be used in a variety of

grips and the Para2 choil is only conducive to a forward or saber grip. A leaf shape blade is great for a lot of tasks but I think more utilitarian shape would improve

the Para 2's performance. My suggestion would be to use the blade shape from the Spyderco Police or maybe the Endura, and for peats sake why not make it wave

able? I believe that the Para2 is a great knife, but I think that if these changes were made it would surpass itself and become even better.
