My first Spyderco

Thanks guys. I'll check in again when I get the next one... you know there's always a next one !

Does theoriginalspaceman have a web page or ebay store? How do you order?
Skip eBay. There is someone selling very similar clips. Although Casey doesn't have any protection against people ripping his design off he could/should IMO. So it's nice to know the reality and to support only the guy who came up with that design, not the parasite on eBay. He's not reselling Casey's clips either, they are different.

I bought a used Spyderco awhile back that came with what looked like a Lynch style clip, but the material used was a good 20% thicker stock than what Casey uses. This thicker clip is absolutely horrible IMO! It's amazing how a little added thickness can make it that much bulkier and uncomfortable.

Great first spidie! I have the blue carbon fiber version. I love it, I've had mine on me almost every day for a year now. Try out the spidie flick on the domino. It works great.

Actually have been working on that. I now like it better than the flipper. I use my thumb though.

Middle finger is greatly satisfying once you get it dialed in, and I much prefer it to a flipper since I can do it with most all of my Spyderco knives. It has become instinct, so now If I carry a different brand knife with a stud, I greatly miss the Spyderhole!
Be warned; some people are highly opposed to "flicking knives", so don't be surprised if someone tries to argue about carelessly flicking knives - I've seen it happen many times and becomes a touchy subject. ;)

Speed, I totally understand especially in our PC society today. I usually carry my small Sebenza 21 . I really can't flip that one so I just open it slowly when needed and its close to the size of traditional folders, so I try not to scare anybody.
