Actually it's my first 2 Spydercos. I picked up a Pacific Salt with serrated edge and an Endura 4 with a combo edge. I'm going to use the Endura as an everyday knife and the Pacific Salt as a back-up dive knife and boat knife. I'm very pleased with the quality of the knives.

The only question I have is: What are the numbers on the blade?

Interesting, neither my native (combo edge) or endura 4 (plain edge) have numbers on the blade like that. I love the endura 4 and the native is growing on me more and more. The next question is, what's next?

The numbers are Collector's Club numbers. Many dealers have a CC number or two (or more) just to ensure that they will get a few pieces of every new knife that comes out. In the case of some sprint runs, the CC knives may be the only ones they get, if production is small and demand is high.

I'm still learning Spyderco intricacies, but I beleive those numbers indicate the knives were originally sold to the corresponding collectors. There is a collector society whereupon each member has their own number. Prior to an official public retail offering, these members are issued (buy) theirs first. The number corresponds to a collector. The "V" indicates this knive is a 'variant' version of a original first design offering.

That makes sense. The dealer told me that they get at least 5 of every knife that Spyderco releases.
