My First Spyderco...

Congratulations! Very interesting looking knife, that's for sure.

My first Spyderco was a Dragonfly, but I lost it :( It made a kickass bra knife. (For carrying, clipped onto the bra, that is)

Have fun with your first Spyderco

If it counts, my first Spyderco was a Cara Cara G10. Not long afterwards, it was a Delica 4 with wave.

Well one thing's for sure, you wont be clipping the Micro Dyad to your bra! ;):D

Congratulations, that is one awesome looking knife.

But as a word of caution, it is a very addictive hobby. Got my first Spyderco December last year, it was a Para Milli. Than comes Mini Manix, Caly 3, Military, Pacific Salt, Calypso Jr., D'Allara 2 Rescue, Endura 4 ZDP, Native III, Salt I, Dragonfly, Yojimbo, Navigator II, Lava, Meadowlark, Cara-Cara, Raven, Crow AND the last one was Crossbill which arrives early last month.

Have fun playing with your Micro Dyad, but I am pretty sure it won't be your last Spyderco.

Yeah I agree. I first bought 2 native's, Then 7 endura 4's (3 i n zdp-189), then 3 military's, and now 3 police's and a civilian.

I bought my first Spyderco over a year ago, an Endura 4, and since then, I've bought a waved Delica, a Jester, two Natives, a Cara-Cara, a Robin, a Temperance, and a Manix, which I traded for a Leupold scope for my 10/22. Damn I miss that Manix.

Spoke to Patti at Knifecenter today. She said she didn't know if they would be getting more of these.

Sal,any input?

WOO HOO :D

Back in stock.
Shipped today.
Will post pics when it arrives.

PS And I got the new Knifecenter catalogue coming.800 pages of naked knife porn...

Well that is an interesting piece. I too have been contemplating my first Spyderco, but can't decide on the serrated or plain edge. This looks like the best of both worlds plus the jigged bone makes it look more like what I'm used to carrying.
Please do report back when it comes in.
Thanks Rick

Well here it is.
Everything I hoped for.
Traditional looks, one-handed opening, VG10.
I like it very much...
Good job, Sal and Company.

I really like how the plain edge is flat ground while the serrated sheepsfoot is saber (im guessing hollow?). Gives you a testing bed for many different blade configurations.

Wait, let me understand. How can you loose a knife when its attached to your bra. Wouldn't you kinda notice that it unclipped when it traveled all the way wherever it went when it fell? :p :D

Anyway, I used the Dragonfly for years and just handed it down it to my youngest son. He was very excited about it. It served me very well as a EDC knife and expect it will serve him for years as well. I replaced it with a D'allara drop point and think that is going to work out great.

I ordered one too, it came in today. I'm a little disapointed , I was expecting a knife that measures 3" closed like the ad says. This ine is a 1/2" short.

That's a gentleman's pocketknife - I ordered two, and they are absolutely gorgeous. That being said, I only carry them if I'm wearing a suit or going out clothes, where they fit in. You might try to find the old-school micarta Dyad Jr, which came with a clip, if you want a little size larger. That's a super little dual purpose knife, and I love mine. And if you really want to go BIG, go with the full sized Dyad - it's a monster, but a handier dual purpose knife would be hard to find! Keep that Micro-Dyad - it'll make an excellent family heirloom someday, for sure.....

I called the Knifecenter and they changed the ad, now it says 2 1/2 inch closed. They aplogized for the mistake and offered to take it back but I think I'm going to keep it, maybe start a little Spydie collection.
Thanks Rick
