I wanted to try to post a picture for the first time and I thought that my first finished knife would be a good place to start. I made this for a friend at work's boyfriend last Christmas- based on his design that she got out of him without him knowing that it would be a present. It was meant to be big, brutish and unrefined as he is a Conan the Barbarian type fantasy lover. It is made of an unknown hardened steel I got from work, leather and self twisted wire. The stand is walnut and caribou antler, the carvings on the blade are "Bathed in blood" in scandinavian futhark runes with the translation on the stand. I got $75 Canadian for it too!!
Any comments I will take with a grain of salt- remember it was not my design

Well, at least you got paid! :D

If they were happy, more power to you. Looks nothing like I would ever set out to buy/build/trade/steal.

I just keep looking at that and the song "Walk Like an Egyptian" by the Bangles keeps popping into my head... weird.

Well, you said it was ment to be unrefined, and it sure as hell is. Looks like somthing I would have made out of wood when I was 6. I never got $75 for my stuff though.

Yes- and is barefoot and pregnant as I speak!!!:foot:

It was not what I like, or what the rest of my blanks turning into knives look like- but he is very happy with it- so I guess that is all that matters. I find it very ironic that I only collect using knives but my first sale was a "fantasy" piece.
