Ive been wanting to try a Stockman for quite some time and have been looking for an (OLDER) knife to try..This one slipped under Duncans radar somehow? and i picked up this old work horse. The marking says AUG.MULLER SOHNE SOLINGEN GERMANY..I dont know if this is a maker or a retailer....Anyway, its 4 inches closed, has great snap and walk an talk..Its got slight wobble so will be getting the cut n tuck treatment today..Blades are used but not abused and at one stage was highly polished if the pen blade is any indication..The seller stated it was stag handles ? but it looks more like dyed and (hand jigged)?bone to me..Any comments are welcome and i look forward to edc,ing this well respected pattern..........FES

That's a beauty FES, I love the long pull on the main clip.

I always love to see a nice watch in a knife photo too, that Protrek/Pathfinder is a tank and the biggest watch I own :D

As my son and his friends would say, "DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE, that is sweet!"

Beautiful knife and I love the stamp on the blade. Watch out, you will now be addicted and there is no 12 step program to help you.

Congrats on your first Stockman! Bet it's not your last ;)
Very cool anvils too

Yup its a beast alright...i have a standing bet that anyone that can lift it above their head can have it!!...i can get it 2 inches off the ground with much snap ,crackle and pop! sounds...boys will be boys!....It was made in Birmingham by a company called ONIONS...they were the blacksmiths for king George the 5th??....These were only sent to Commonwealth countries (ie,,very rare in the USA).......FES

That is "The Mythical Beast"!! Very interesting and I have a friend who will really get a kick out of this!! I am off to do some research...thanks FES

Please keep me informed....I believe this anvil was made about 1750?...As Onions was amalgamated with Fieldways some time after this and traded as Onions Fieldways....sorry to get off topic...FES
