Purchased my first Surefire flashlight a couple of weeks ago and I just wanted to say WOW, what a great light. I bought the standard 6P from Gander Mt., I then went to Surefire and got a HOLA. This thing puts out one hell of a beam of light and the light is uniform with no rings. The only problem that I have is that with the HOLA you only get 20 minutes out of set of batteries, oh well, that is why I bought extra batteries. I was looking at possibly buy an L4 but I am not sold on the LED and the light quality that it puts out. Just thought I would chime in a sing the praises of Surefire flashlights, which of course most of you already knew.

One question, I was looking on Surefire’s website and I was thinking of buying the clicky tailcap for my 6P and I was wondering if when it is installed does it screw in all the way and then the button turns it on/off, or do you still have to leave it unscrewed slightly so the light is not on all the time? If anyone has put the piece on let me know how it works and what you think of it.

On the E series lights (including the L4) the clickie tailcap stays all the way screwed down, and then the switch is on/off from there. The switch doesn't work if the cap is not screwed in all the way.

Cant answer your question about the clicky tail cap but I myself had a G2Z (sold), E2e-HA (sold), and just bought an E2e-HA again yesterday. The P61 puts out a lot of light and I got about 3 weeks use out of it on a set of batteries. Here is a runtime chart I did last year.

I dont recommend running it down till its dim because it builds deposits in the lamp and reduces it's life.
