My first two knives.

Hi guys I'm new here and new to making knives. I have some cool tools but not all the right ones yet. I wanted to show you a couple of my first ones and see what you think. They are both made from O1 and haven't been heat treated yet. I'm still working on figuring out how I'm going to do heat treat. The first one is really little. About 6.00x1.25x.156.

The second one is a little better in my opinion. It's bigger and has a little better shape. It's not finished yet.

I built a little fixture to help with the filing but I'm finding out that I need to find a much better way to rough in the blades.

I guess those don't really show it but it's basically an L shaped jig with holes at different heights to create different angles and keep the file in line.

I still have a lot of work to do. Thanks for looking!

I use(d) a 2"x2" hardwood beam in my vice to clamp blanks to when filing.
I found that filing from the spine to the edge works better then the other way around.
Finish by drawfiling with a single cut file
