Doug i'm basing my guess on similar EO Jacks i have from other USA manfacturers. This pattern was quite popular between WW I and WW II.

The best way to learn about vintage knives is to own a lot of them for your own inspection and reading posts in the BRL forum daily for a few years. Most of what is posted there is authorative knowledge and it makes collecting knives much more interesting and rewarding. It is also quite an entertaining forum, not just 'dry' info.
