Embarrassed, we’ll, kind of, to say I’ve never bought a knife from Walmart until today. Went there for cat food and also came home with a Kershaw Cryo. Ha!

I was surprised how depleted the knife inventory was (see pic). Many of the knives in the case were the last in stock including the Cryo I bought. Luckily for me it was a winner. It has perfect blade centering, tight lock up and some nice snap on the assist. All and all for $36 it was a good deal I think.

Also $60 for a Leek! Whoa! I remember when they were $30.

Tomorrow I’m going to visit the other Walmart West of me and see what their stock is like. I’ll report back here with anything worthwhile.

Uhhh, I'm proud to say I've never bought a knife from Walmart.
when they used to have cheaper prices before Bucks map went onto effect and Walmart only Buck knives. like the 632 mesa as one example, i bought there. even used to get excited to see what Bucks they'd have in stock.

I also had no shame shopping there.....😉

Schrade's demise is a long story with more than one set of villains...
But they were in trouble, and looking to pull themselves back from the brink. When WalMart dangled the big contract in front of them: they spent everything they had on expanding their production capacity. When things turned sour, and WalMart pulled the offer; they never recovered from the cash outlays spent on the expansion...

I used to be able to say that for 35 years!

I just remembered, many years ago I did buy a Buck CrossLock from a super Kmart in Littleton NH on the way to the hunting cabin. Ahhh, the days when those big Kmarts were around and sold guns and other cool gear.

I always tell my wife if we ever hit Lotto there’s two places we’re not shopping at anymore; Walmart and Amazon!

Walmart is a last resort for purchasing, after not being able to find it anywhere else or being out of stock for an extended period of time. There are often a couple brands where you can find stock there you won't find anywhere else, but you're not going to save any money by shopping there and you're not supporting local knife stores that give you so much more.
