Just got my XM 3.5" Spanto today. Was amazed that it only took three days to get once I was able to place an order. Love, love, love the knife. It's the perfect size and the build is unlike any other knife that I have ever handled. Can not wait to break this bad boy out in front of the guys and put it to work!
I was hoping to get the ACU Camo G10 but instead it came with black, which in my opinion just makes it look that much more "classic". Sure the camo would have been sweet but how can one not be satisfied with their first XM!? I see a few ZT's and Striders getting some "down-time" if they are lucky enough to not hit the exchange!

Guess it goes with out saying.... I'M STOKED!

Congrats, prepare your wallet or credit card for more haha, they are some great blades

don't exchange your ZT's they are still excellent blades, keep your collection alive and growing!!

Congratulations on your new knife. You have the knife "In-Hand" that when asked, I recommend every time whether it be for a First, an Only or a must have.
Enjoy.

Being new to owning an XM and all the accessories I will have several questions I'm sure but my first is... How grippy are the frag scales? Really thinking about purchasing a blue one

Congrats on the first.

Now about frag...it's not as grippy as the Hinderer texture due to the pattern of frag leaving more material than voids. Just look at photos and you can see what I'm typing. But it does have some grip, so if you like it...it's your call on the purchase.

Feel free to use the photo threads or keep this one going, it's up to you.

And two well known authorized dealers now have smooth CF scales for the 3.5" in stock. I prefer the smooth as you can wax it to bring out the depth. The fragged CF looks like G-10 to me. But smooth is not favorable to hard sweaty cutting. Just looks good.

Other than CF, I personally like the blue, or the blue/black. I have both (can never have too many scales).

Enjoy your new tool! The frag G10 is very grippy, even more than factory IMO. The frag has the same traction in all directions where the factory has great grip horizontal to the handle but much less vertical traction. Choose what looks best to you & your good to go.

Congrats on your First XM. Will not be your last I am sure as you will grow curious of the 2 other sizes.....lol. Would love to see pics in action..!

Sort of the feeling i got just by looking at pics but it never hurts to have a little reassurance.

And yes nyefmaker i am already very curious as to how a 3" non flipper would feel in the pocket

It's funny what " 1/2 and inch" can do. I say it in quotes because the differences in size are obviously in ALL dimensions length/width/weight etc.
I had grown accustomed to the 3.5" so, when I first opened my box containing my 3" I remember saying "Yikes that is way smaller than I thought it would be".
When I got a 24 said, "Yousa, She's a Big Girl".
Now, I love ALL sizes because I use them for different reasons.
3.5" is my EDC most of the time.
3" gets pocket time when the nice weather and shorts come to the Pocono Mountains.
4" is in my GB as well as pocket when in the woods.

So.... there ya have it :)

trying to figure out how to post pics...

Absolute simplest way is, Go on Google and find "PhotoBucket"
Go in and get an account (easy and free)
Download on your smartphone from "apps"
The pics you take with your phone will automatically populate in your PB Library on both your phone and computer
Go in to your PB and select the photo
Click on Img code ( to the right on the screen)
Go back to RHK forums and right click in your post - select paste and
bang! pic is in your post!
easy peesy

Very cool of you Rubi! I followed your guidance with photobucket a while back and have enjoyed using it since...nice app to for droid!:D
