My foray into full tangs begins here

Thanks, Stacy. Unfortunately, progress will be a bit slower now. I'll have very little time to do anything this week. But come the weekend you can bet I'll be back at it. This is one I am anxious to see finished.

Greg,
They both look great. I can't wait to see them both.
Thank you for posting photos.
By the way, what is the normal turn around from Peters? I have my first stainless knife 440c, that I am thinking of sending to them.
Fred

Normal turn around for small orders, like mine, can vary from 2 - 4 weeks, usually closer to 2 weeks.

By the way, I am now done with the jury duty that had me blocked off last week, so I can resume my normal work schedule.

Before going on vacation I sanded the blade of the kirinite handled knife to 800 grit. As soon as I got back I finished sanding it to 2500 grit and etched my mark on it.

Today I sharpened it, glued up the handle and peened the pins. Unfortunately, I marred the surface a bit during sharpening, but I will try to work that out later. It is setting up now.

Tomorrow I will grind the pins flat to the surface, finish out the handle and call it done. Afterwards I will post the final pictures before sending it off to the recipient.

Finished pictures.
