Yeah, I do too...

He's had this cheapo thing for a half a decade, and he's not a knife guy. Met up with him recently and found his pile of poo in need of sharpening.

I also wrapped it in cord, made up a retention ring and epoxied the thing. He likes it.

At least with that big gap, if he were to have it satin finished, it wouldn't reflect that much light.

Awesome replies.

This started life way back in 2012 as a piece of AUS-6, cheapo skeletonized knife. Gave it to a friend who didn't have a small, concealable blade. Fast forward, meet up with the dude and He's still rocking the same knife. I take a look at it and is been used, lots. Never maintained.

I don't make knives really. Just paint and play guitar and stuff.

He asked me if I could sharpen it up and make it look post-apocalyptic and crusty.

I used a keyring to give retention during banana cutting, paracord, superglue, siding laquer, copper wire and plumbers Goop to secure everything. We tested it out on a door for some time. It's secure.

I finished it up today. It now opens bottles as well. Pics inbound.

So now he has a spine with a point that will allow him to stab something only once, but opens bottles?

Custom maker, only makes 2 blades a year. Can only get two out a year from his home, Rikers Island.
