This forum is like an experiment, where we are all the people of the world; We get to chose how we run this world, and we can have order or chaos. I can say we are doing well. We have the mods to govern us, the members as a big network of friends, and the many generous ones that provide x factors. IF only the real world ran like this, instead of bombing Iraq, we'd hook them up with a nice stag knife, and there would be peace.

Congrats on your knife! its clearly extra special receiving a knife which someone treasured.

Er, Jack, you did wash the knife first, yes?

;)

No deer hair yet this end, but beer and (a little) blood have already been sacrificed :)

Ha! That was exactly what (joke) I was thinking. :)

Whew.

Jack, I'm glad you've already put the knife, or at least one of its tools, to good use.

Havin' been a member of many similar forums this one above all gets most of my time, the people are some of the best, (and there are a few bad also) and the people in the Traditionals Forum tend to be the best of the best out there.

These people who hang here not only share a love of traditional patterns but traditional values as well, congrats Jack, and kudos Duncan.

What an excellent gesture & gift!

I have this same knife in my pocket as I type.

Truly a great knife and great recipient and a great gift giver:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I cant help but smile when I visit this forum:D

Enjoy Jack, you are so worthy---Thank you Duncan, a very fine gift my friend. Thanks to both of you for being and making this place home.

Wow...Jack, it was actually a great pleasure to gift you this knife, this knife is one of my top 5 best of all time.
Charlie gifted me my first ever GEC, and when you mentioned you have yet to own a GEC ...it just clicked...you had to experience what I have with this knife-even though you Sir are light years ahead of me with your knowledge of knives... I still thought it would be great for you to experience just a bit of what overtook me with this knife.
Charlies Serpentine Jack has suffered somewhat at the hands of an extreme amateur with sharpening....and although I have taken probably a good 25 years off the knife ( as you do with the wrong stone and absolute wrong technique ) I still love this edc favourite...I now manage to keep it sharp without a years loss each time :o
I am extremely thankfull at the kind words spoken, thank you Jack for everything so far, and thank you everyone, I too just love this place.
Im so glad the knife got to you safely Jack
