My fun legs!!

SO I need to vent to you fine folk on WSS. As some of you;) might know, my legs were broken 10 months ago yesterday, which left me lying in a farmers field (there, I added some survival situations for the forum). So yesterday I had a checkup with my surgeon. Fun times, especially when he came in and told me that my left leg (my good leg) had re-fractured:mad: as a result of the metal plate in that leg breaking!!! So guess what- a month before my wedding (which I was able to walk and possibly dance at) I get to go in for surgery!!! YAY ME! More time in the hospital! They now have to take out the pins (6) and the plate in my leg, possibly to a bone graft from my hip onto my leg, and replace the pins and a now thicker plate. Oh, and they may have to do a new incision in my foot as after the re-fracture happened my foot and leg have been twisting and I have stretched a ligament in my foot that may need some sutures to fix. Woo hoo! 3 month setback- and my insurance was trying to force me to go back to work at the beginning of May.

I should be OK for when I go to massage therapy school in September, but this really puts a damper on my wedding plans. I will not be weight bearing on my left foot for a while and may now need crutches to walk down the isle, may be wearing an aircast on my foot, and dancing at the reception will be tricky. We are going to the Mayan Rivera for our honeymoon on the 26th of July so my activities there will be limited as well. I may be able to do some swimming but the Mayan ruins will be tough to get around, and who knows how easy it will be to kayak and visit lagoons and such. We were thinking about trying out ziplines and cliff diving but now I get to watch Juli do all of the exciting things (good thing she is easy to look at:D)

Sorry for the long winded rant but I had to get it out and the fine ladies and gentlemen here have always been supportive of us that hurt ourselves. Thanks for listening to my rant and as a "reward" here are some pictures of our first camping trip with Ananda on the May long weekend (our first with her and probably last of the year now:()

Awww man that sucks. Hope you heal quickly and enjoy the beautiful times you have planned.

Wow thats some bad news bro. I wish you all the best, and keep your chin up! I know its your wedding day and honeymoon, but I am sure you will still have a great time starting your new life together with your gals. That is one beautiful child you got there, enjoy.

Man, thats rough. I'm keeping you in our prayers!

Edited to comment on your cute kids! Great pics there!

Sorry to hear that. I really hope all goes well and that when recovery is complete you will be pain free.
You may lose some time now but look to tomorrow. Better days are coming.
Take care.

LAME!

That is really frustrating, man. But a month is a fair amount of healing time, you might surprise yourself!

And the 26th of July is still six or seven weeks away...you probably won't be running any marathons but you might be in better shape than you think right now!

That really sucks, though, man. I am really sorry to hear that. Limited mobility is really tough for some guys to stomach (such as myself) and the more active you are, the more frustrating it has to be.

I really hope that your healing goes well, and no matter what, I'm sure your wife will be there for you when you need a bit of relaxation!

Only one little girl right now, but #2 may be here around this time next year if things go according to plans.

Tell them to use INFI steel this time. ;)

Why, is that a tough steel or something;)

Thanks for the encouragement all. I know it is for the best and there was the option of waiting but with the possibility of complications why wait and make things worse?
Just got off of the phone with my insurance and it looks like they are going to try and "mess" around with my coverage, even though I have our package information in front of me! Plus it appears from government information that I received yesterday that I may be getting $1500 less than I should be!! Really frustrating right now but hey- keeps life interesting!

I just wish I knew what I did to Murphy so that I could make it up to him!!!

aaahh man.. what a bummer.. so sorry to hear that....:( that sucks man... i know how it goes, i've had 2 knee surgeries in the past 5 years... the second one was a result of the sutures, that they used to repair my knee the first time, tearing....:thumbdn: good luck... keep us posted...

Man that sucks! Dealing with doctors and hospitals is no fun.

Best wishes for a quick recovery, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding.

That sucks, but it sounds like you are a real survivor. I'm sure that out of this hardship will come some rewards unexpected. That's what I keep telling myself anyhow.;):D
You're in our prayers Bro! Keep us posted, and Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear about the set back...Take care and prayers sent.... keep us in the loop on what is going on,thanks Tony

Hang tough man. You are in our prayers. I am praying murphy will let up as well as a full and speedy recovery.

Hey CLAK,

I guess I could say it sucks (and I just did) like the others, but they covered it pretty well, so I'm going to take another tack.

Silver lining - now you have more time to work on net making! :D

Let me know if you need more info. Oh yeah, and get well soon.

Do the wedding, delay the trip.

Wait until you can both enjoy it.

Be worth the memories. Otherwise, she will worry about you, and you, about her.

Yah- but I have a couple of wedding knives to get done as they are my presents for my groomsmen and Juli. Lots of time on the beach for the nets though! To be honest I have not even started making nets :o

No worries! I told you, whenever you get around to it.
