Very, very nice. I like! And nice pics to boot. One of these days I got to figure out how to put up pics.

great pictures!

they both look awesome, that dyed purple dragonfly came out great and the g-10 is just awesome. can't wait for my first DF.

Very nice. How does it feel (weight wise) compared to the original?

Heavy and solid with No Axis lock bladeplay. I think thinner liners or nested liners might have been a better option but it still rocks!

STi,

How's the opening and closing action of the G10 'fly. Stiff or smooth operation?
I sold my etched Dragonfly because it was too stiff. Hopefully this one is better.

Well at 1st all my lined knifes are stiff but then get ultra smooth...The etched is pinned steel like the ladybug SS i had..Really stiff at 1st but lossens up too much lol....I made no adjustment because there is 0 bladeplay wich is most important to me but you could back the screw out ever so slightly.

Good points. I must have opened and closed my etched 5000 times or more.
It never really got any smoother, so off it went. I will definitely get a G10 version.

1 drop of slip 2000 and about 10 open/close and it's already smooth...The fact it has 0 bladeplay it will now replace my Urban for around the house knife.

After handling it for abit it really doesen't feel that heavy and i'm loving this little bugger!

How about Foliage Green shots....I really wish they would replace this color with the Rescue orange as the Dominant G-10 Color.

I hoping the new frn dragonfly will have a 2 piece screw construction like the g-10 version, but that it'll come in multiple colors (especially rescue orange) as well.

Nice photo's!

I have been tossing up between the Urban and the G10 Dragonfly, which do you prefer for ergos, size etc?:)

I like both but prefer lock and smooth easy action along with the slightly smaller package of DF..But I like every new knife i get so ask me again in a few days lol.

ahhh! i broke down, can't wait for the new frn DF and can't justify the g-10 price yet...so i ordered a white DF! :D

Thanks for the pics!

On my early FRN DF and SS DF, the blade can be pushed down until it hits the back spacer. The backspring pressure is strong enough that it doesn't cause any harm unless you deliberately push the closed blade hard into the handle. AFAIK, the Dragonfly and the Baby Goddard are the only Spyderco's like this. All the other lockback models have the kicker on the blade placed right over the pivot pin when closed. Does the G-10 version still do this? The reason I ask is that in your side-by-side comparison pics, it looks like the geometry has changed slightly - the position of the lockbar pivot pin being the most noticeable.

Thanks,

Kyle

Just opened mine up fresh out of the box. Very nice fit and finish. Blade is solid when locked open with no play. I like the wire clip on this one. I'll have to get my other DF's out and do a family portrait and see how they compare.
STi - I like your pics and you have a nice green collection there!
