My GEC #14 Boys Knife with clip-point master blade

I love it. I like the spear on my 14's but would love to see a clip also you did a nice job

That looks great! I'm with you on the usefulness of the clip. I like having a "pointy-er" blade even though the spear point is tough.
Just curious, did you lose any length in the re-profile?

You did a great job on the re-grind. I tend to prefer clips also, but I wouldn't attempt what you did.

22-rimfire, it really wasn't that difficult. All you have to do is take your time and be careful.

Here's a couple of photos of the #14 closed. Also, I have included a couple of photos of my #77 Jackknife that I also re-ground from a spear to a clip.

It'll be interesting to see how this conversion, and chosen profile, compares to GEC's own (inevitable) iteration. I believe yours may hold the swedge edge. ;)

Nice (brave!) work in the meantime. :)

Thank you! I took my time and made sure the swedges were even on either side. It truly was not as difficult as it may first appear to do so. I do hope that GEC does a run of #14's with clip master blades. I believe they would be a "best seller" for them! I could not get a clip-point #77 when I purchased mine, so I did it myself. I do like the long pull in combination with the clip master.
