My Girfriend Wants a Spyderco...

Did you consider the Meerkat? Small and ambidextrous. Not to mention the Phantom lock™ which is funny to operate. Other options could be the Navigator, Pegassus or Mouse.
Speaking of small knives for women, know that my wife has a Vesuvius and a Chinook - it was her choice. OTOH it is me who preffer smaller knives.

oh .....when i see your new member icon, im in doubt that you prefer smaller knives, dialex :D

Here's another vote for the Dragonfly and/or the Meerkat. My wife likes these two models because of their ergonomics. If your g'friend wants a larger knife go with the FRN Delica, it's lightweight but can still get the job done.

Managing to find women who actually like your knives enough to want one of their own. Last couple I have been with (women that is) wouldn't ever consider owning a knife or carrying one :(
But nice to know that there is hope out there somewhere.

I know you've already covered FRN, but I'd still suggest the Meerkat. It has metal liners and the scales aren't "traditional" Spydie FRN, so it might work. Not sure how the lock release will work for a lefty, but shouldn't be a problem...

I am still determined to get a pink Delica for my daughter and have her initials engraved on the blade. I believe these were only made in Spyderedge though.

My sister was carrying one of those cheap Opinel-look alikes on her keychain. It was so rusty it was nearly rusted shut. I gave her my red Ladybug as a gift. She uses the hell out of it. They are much more durable than they look. Of course, whenever I get a chance I clean all the crap off the blade and sharpen it for her.

My wife has a green Ladybug in her purse. She had to take it off her keychain, (I also took my blue one off mine) because the baby loves to play with our keys! However, she also has used it like mad. I got her to carry a Delica once when she went on a trip to Florida and the Spyderedge Endura is clipped to the sunvisor in the car. She also wants a pink Delica, and actually prefers the Spyderedge! I guess she's just an agressive type of girl. Sort of like a mother lion protecting her cub!

I would recommend either the Calypso Jr. in micarta (I sure regret getting rid of mine) or the Rookie (ditto: regret). The G-10 Standard can still be found along with the new Carbon Fiber Delica II. Personally I think that would be the way to go. For less than $90, she'd have a very classy Spyderco knife, light enough to carry, with a lot of class. See my post on the CF Police, these are SWEET knives. Good luck. She will love ya for it! Ain't this hobby fun?

Thanks for all your replies, I didn't expect such a good response :D

I discussed all the suggestions with my girlfriend (some of which I can't believe I overlooked!) and at present she is leaning towards either the SS Dragonfly or the Salsa in Cranberry.

As soon as she has settled on one I'll let you know. Thanks again for the assistance
