A pruner blade works excellent for opening frozen pizza packages. Check if you can find a Victorinox Pioneer Rancher, that has such a pruner blade and a bottle opener.

I always keep a few sharp knives in the kitchen. My wife doesn't touch them out of fear of cutting herself and that's happened a few times. Your should set aside a few and let your friends and roommates know to keep away. I actually made some kydex sheaths for the shorter quality kitchen knives we own. Most people stay away from them.

When I first started getting addicted to sharpness, my grip strength started getting weaker at things like tearing open packages. Got an Ivanko Super-Gripper and can again tear open packages. And the stronger grip helps me keep my hands steadier while sharpening.

I carry a fixed blade in a Kydex sheath on my housecoat and it comes in handy all the time.

I had the same thought: in the kitchen where there are no knives sharp enough to cut plastic. What happened to using your teeth? always works for me!

It just ends up in your armpit. Not a big deal but I usually take mine off every night. I do nap with the Izula on no problem though.

neck knifes are not the answer, they are so uncomfortable. the real answer is to buy more knifes! I always have a gun and a knife with in arms reach no matter where I go im my house.
