I have been after a SHBM for a while, finaly saved up enough green to start hunting for one. I posted up in the want to buy and not too long after a great HOG hooked me up with a sweet peice of INFI!! I was looking for new or used but had my fingers crossed for a user (I didn't think I could bring my self to use a mint SHBM) and thats what I scored!! Can;t wait to get this baby into the brush. :D:D

My other GRAIL was promised to me a long time ago by my Dad. This is a 1911 that he brought home from his time in the Air Force during Korea. He was never sent to Korea thankfuly, but he did spend a lot of time in Alaska and in the Mojave Desert. He was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base (Alaska) and Muroc Air Force Base (aka Edwards AFB) and was an MP. I have a few of his old pictures and love to look at them. He passed the 1911 on to me a short while ago, he is 78 years old and can't pull the slide back anymore, so he figured it was time to pass it on!!

Anyway, on with the pics.

Congrats on both!!!

The SHBM is sure sweet, but the 1911 is more special with it's history.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the SHBM...

Thanks for the pics!

Awesome score! I can't think of a better pair to have. Especially the 1911 being as it was your dad's.

Beautiful pics and some great history there brother:thumbup::)

Good for you!

That's a really nice 1911 you've got there Snakedoc. Most of them I've had or seen US. Property marked were parkerized. You've got a blued one that's icing on the cake.
Congrats,

Both are nice, congrats! the SH are nice piece of Busse history and that pistol is my favorite form the colts.

That's great. But box up that 1911. He can still probably hook the rear sight on his belt or a table edge to rack that slide. ;)

You young whipper-snappers these days. LOL

Great grail pair. The SHBM is often-imitated, never duplicated.
