My granddaughter, back in the hospital.

Just had a call from my daughter Stella telling me that Jessica is being admitted to the hospital again as we spoke.
Jessica is becoming dehydrated again with the debilitating symptoms Crohns causes.
The Drs had cut back on her prednisone to see if she could stabilize without it, didn't work.
The prednisone has Jessica at 175 pounds with the moon face that steroids bring.
I could hear Jessica in the background saying that she was hungry. But everything she eats she throws right back up.
We were hopeful that the new medicines would work, but it looks like they haven't. I have no idea of what they're gonna try next but I'm praying the Drs find some way to stop the attack long enough for Jessica to at least stabilize.
I just wish that there was something that I could do!:grumpy:

I'm sorry to hear the sad news. I hope things are better with the new year. It is frustrating not being able to help! My granddaughters had that "bad" flu, 106.5 fever, and I could only verbly comfort their parents, my son said "that is the flu they die from." My words didn't help much.

Two of my nieces have Crohn's...both have responded well to medical treatment, so there *is* hope.

Yvsa, I am truly sorry to hear the news. I know you would take it upon yourself if it would help your granddaughter. We would do anything for our kids. You and yours are in our thoughts and prayers. Really wish we could do more.

Always hope. One of my Scouts with Crohns was "gone" last Spring and backpacking in October.
