My Great Uncles' Penknives: A dedication and discussion on 'coarse' fishing.

You're a good man Jack. Those Normark/EKA knives are great, robust and keep a real sharp edge. I swapped a Miltec GAK with an electrician (and good friend) at work for mine. He said it frightened customers when he whipped it out for a bit of wire stripping, and seemed happy to let it go for something a bit smaller. I think I've said it before but if dropped on an island with nothing else but a folding knife with which to survive my EKA would be the one that I'd choose. Hey, sounds like a good idea for another thread!

Thanks Blake :) Desert Island Folders sounds like a great thread idea! :D

Does anyone remember those little fish-shaped key-chain knives, which were made in the Far East, I haven't seen one for years? :)

do you mean like this?

There's also a Rybička, (little fish) a small Czech pocket knife with the handle shaped as a fish. I don't have one of those, but they look pretty neat.

Yes, exactly that r8shell :) Nice to see one again, thanks

I always enjoy the family history associated with traditional knives. Nothing coarse about them Blake, the men or the knives. Well done
