I just wanted to post some props here for a really good guy.
I recently purchased (on the secondary market) a Northwoods Scagel Reproduction with beautiful sambar stag and 1095 steel (see pic below). A very nice knife, but there were a couple of scale pins sticking up so high they would snag my thumb and fingers.
I have seen some really nice pictures posted on the forums of modifications on knives, and knives made by BF member STR (Steve). I decided to contact him and see if he would work on the pins of my Scagel.
"Sure" he said..."no problem." To make a short story shorter, I sent the knife to him on Monday, and got it back Saturday with a super job done on the pin modifications. Now the Scagel is a pleasure to handle.
Just wanted to let folks here know that, in my book, STR does excellent work and is a real gentleman.
Thanks Steve.
