I made this one for my trip to the Adirondack mountains. It worked well (chopped some saplings for walking sticks, cut some wood, and some other general stuff), but I will make a new one if I go again next year.

This one is offered for sale here.

It is 8670 steel. I originally thought it was L6, because that is what Admiral Steel called it, but I have come to find out that is 8670, which is labeled as L6 substitute on the website. It did harden quite well with a hint of a hamon, and I have been chopping with it quite a bit without any ill effects. I have actually bought more 8670 since based on how well this stuff did.

It does have a full file pattern, from the heel of the spine to the about 3" from the tip.

The handle is black linen micarta, with a lanyard hole. I just used some parachord for the lanyard, and it worked well. The pins are 1/4 inch brass pins that have been stippled for a nice effect.

Kydex sheath.
