My hiking partner is getting bigger.

Nice pics bro, I now find myself wanting a donkey for some reason ?
I'm not too keen on Llama's though, they used to chase my dog around fields when I hiked in England !!!
By the way my hiking partner is also getting bigger, when we got her they said 35lbs was a good weight for her height, on the recent pic below she tips the scales at 60lbs !!!

Very nice looking LLama.

Question, Alpacas and Pacu Vacunas you can shear and use the wool...same with LLamas?

We get to the Wool markets every summer but I've never gotten my question answered regarding that. The wife knits and usually gets some alpaca wool yarn but I've never seen LLama wool yarn. Lots of LLamas at those things...never seen the wool for sale.

My poor llama needs a new home soon. She came with the farm I live on when we bought it. I was told she was trained to carry a pack, but she is not very friendly anymore.
Absolutely fantastic guard animal! And it is funny to watch passers-by stop and point!

Our neighbors had a Rottweiler that ran loose.

Our donkey ran loose.

Then the Rott would get on our property the donkey would come up to him, look him in the face and then turn his back to him.

Finally the Rott would run up at him and the Donkey would kick the sh*t out of his head. Sounded like 2 bricks hitting together. The rott would then run for the neighbors property and the donkey running right on his tail, trying to stomp him with his front feet.

Eventually we had to put a fence up to keep the donkey off of their property because every time he saw the Rott he would run down there, run him up on their porch and then walk back and forth in their front yard waiting for him to come off so he could kick the sh*t out of him:thumbup:

great story hollowdweller :D:thumbup:
Cool thread, thanks for the pix savagesicslayer

pit!
maisy needs to get int shape!!!
:D
you'd think all those hikes would do it?
lol

I thought llamas would be able to carry more than that actually.
cool pics.
:D

Pitdog, do you feed her from the table?
My parents have a cocker spaniel that bats her eyelashes at my dad (after 4 sons and only male dogs, this is their first daughter) at the dinner table, and consequently looks more tlike a pot bellied pig then a dog.

Are you kidding me, Maisy is a fine example of a dog.
Shes just strong and short.

I agree. She looks fit and happy. Next thing you know you are going to say is that she is big boned. :D

I never thought you could use a Llama for a packer or for a guard dog. LOL If I had one of those charging at me I wouldn't know what to think. See you learn other things besides about knives on this forum.

No, Maisy is a bit fat. 35 pounds is probably a touch light for that dog, maybe 40-45 pounds fit. Even 50 would be a really good improvement. However, 60 pounds on that dog is way too heavy.

Some more hiking though, adn shell be good to go :D

My mom has Llamas. They protect her goats and sheep from dogs, which I'm trying to get my dad to shoot. They're pretty cool animals, but llama sausage really isn't that tasty.

One of my friends cousin that came with us for a holiday at a farm had a terrible experience with a llama and a goat.
We were told not to run by them because they had a tendency to chase you... guess what he ran. We were all sitting in front of the cabin when you hear this strange squealing sound over the hedges. Thinking it was one of the animals we ignored it when all of a sudden a huge jiggling blob of a 12yr old comes flying through the trees.
Llama and goat bleating (or whatever sound they make) in hot pursuit. We didnt really know what to do... but it ended with a pair of scraped knees and a boy fished out of the pool.

Maybe Busse will design a new knife and name it 'The Llama' just for you Guyon:D...but we all know it would take about the smae amount of care and feeding as a real live Llama, not to mention all that 'farrier work', what with sheaths and all:rolleyes:
