My Hog, Rat and Dog combo. This combo is specifically set aside for SHTF but they do and will continue to get used until then. 1111 in my pack for chopping/batoning/prying. TGLB PROTO and Rodent Trail on my belt. TGLB PROTO for general "survival" utility and defense plus glass breaker pommel. Rodent Trail for finer, slicey work.

Just got the 1111, love it, user pics to come...

What's your Hog, Rat and Dog combo and what do you use them for? Camping, SHTF, just an awesome set for the collection? Share em below!

Dude... nice blades AND combos!!!

For your SHTF combo what will you carry on you belt and what in your pack?

I try to balance the weight on my belt and be light as possible at the same time.

I'd carry them all in my pack, no point freaking people out. Maybe the 311 on my belt.

Where I live, open-carrying that kind of thing, I figure you would run into three types of people during a meltdown... law enforcement, who would arrest you and confiscate your knives; farmers (etc.) who would just grab a rifle and shoot you, then take your knives; or city people, driving around with a car full of crying kids, who wouldn't cope seeing all those knives and might try running you over just in case... and then their kids would probably take your knives.

Lmao! Fair points but I see it a little different..

Obviously SHTF can mean a variety of things but I think it's a safe bet people will be freaking out no matter what the situation.

If the law is still being enforced (natural disaster and police/SES are around) I'd keep them tucked away in my bag. If law is lawless then out come the blades. Its a fine line between the two in a real SHTF situation imo so best keep em close..

Farmers? Not too many around me and I don't plan on raidin' any crops :D

The city slicker driving his never taken off road 4x4 with 3 squeeling kids in the back? That's what telephone poles are for, great for hiding behind ;)

Anyhow, I plan on sitting pretty at home with my supplies until things stop/I run out of food and water (that will be a loooong time)

Those 1111s are awesome choppers! Nice fat slab of SR101 with a good high sabre grind. Beast of a blade.

So glad you kept that Proto bacon! My SHTF combo,
TGLB
NMFBM
KDSH
BASIC 4
BASIC 8LE
Dang, I was only supposed to pick 3.

My Bugout kit consists of a Scrapyard 1111 for chopping stuff, a TGLB for medium sized choirs, and a Active Duty for the little stuff. I have had a Rat Trap in my pocket everyday for at least 10 years so I guess I have all the kin covered.

Chopper: Stripped NMFSH
All-around: TGLB (Sorry, I haven't had the heart to beat on it yet)
Carry: I don't have an EDC-size Busse/kin blade, so my Strider PR gets the title! If not, the RMD pictured will do the job.
P.S. Extra points to whoever can ID what knife I snuck in at the top left of the picture.

Hahaha more the merrier :D and I'm happy I kept the proto around too, it's a wicked blade! When the custom shop opens I might have to send her in for some slick Black G10 handles though!

My only three ATM. .
Old school SteelHeartErgo
Ratweiler LE
Mud Mutt

These are my three at the moment too! I sold off a bunch of mine, bought the essentials and now I'm rebuilding :D

Your three make pretty sweet combo for a lot of situations, good choices

The AD is awesome but I like a bit more belly that the Rodent Trail offers! Apart from that we will be SHTF twins (blade wise) lmao :p

Not exactly a Hog, Rat and Dog...View attachment 699740

Go give that TG some love!!!!

WWII paratrooper OTF 'gravity' knife I believe. I had a surplus one around here at one time.
Nailed it.
Random fact: walnut-gripped gravity knives were issued throughout the war, but these plastic ones came in at the tail-end of the fighting and were continually produced for a few years afterward.

I tried, but started to get dizzy and ultimately gave up. Probably one of these, but there are more possible combos...

I haven't seen the walnut ones, very cool
