Here is what I use to profile my blades. The most expensive part was the rose joint. I uses double stick tape and water sandpaper. I have four rods for different grits. The angle is achieved using an app on my phone and the wing nuts on the threaded rose joint.
Thanks

Hi,

I'm always interested in home made solutions. I've made something similar but using the clamp and hones from my Lansky guided system. It would be interesting to see a couple of pictures of your rig from other angles to get a complete view. You show a knife with a straight spine more or less parallel to the edge and it looks like you have an adjustable plate that you register the spine against.

How do you deal with knives where the blade tapers sharply, or leaf shaped blades like Spyderos? That's where my rig could do with a bit of improvement. The support needs to be angled, but the arrangement also needs to be symmetrical so that when you sharpen the other side the blade's angled the other way.
