My ideal of folding combat knives

Yeah, his pics pushed me over to ordering one this week. They're in stock so it doesn't make sense not to buy it. I can't think of a single reason not to.
 
The two knives that I own and would trust in this situation.

Yes it's a little flashy for combat use and or carry but it's built like a tank and the tip is so fat yet very needle like with the combo grind and I trust it.1000030114.jpg

I remember being in a small room in a foreign port and that room suddenly filling up with locals and thinking how nice that SpyderEdge Endura felt in my pocket should anything hinky start up. Thankfully it was just my nerves acting up but it sure was a reminder about allowing myself to be cornered in a room.

I bet if I dig deep enough I still have that one.

I would say less about stabby, not that they can’t, but throughout my career, I’ve always viewed pocket folders as handy, utility cutters first. Being one-handed is a bonus, fast opening is better.

Another concept is the heavy duty folder likely grandfathered by the Al Mar SERE Attack folder. Not really a pocket folder, most are pouch carried, but heavy duty and compact to avoid getting caught up in aircraft cargo nets and rigging like a belt-mounted fixed blade does.

I prefer big and robust, but that was when I was in uniform and civilian advisory duties in combat/hostile areas. Emerson knives with the wave were probably my most commonly pocketed folder for duty and combat.
