Yes, it does. From the top of the back spring to the pivot doesn't change on a "normal" or "sunk" joint knife. Hiding the back square/run up is a function of the depth of the handle from the pivot down. That's the tradeoff on a sunk joint...the tang gets dwarfed a bit.
It's a matter of aesthetics and I don't think it detracts from a knife as long as we understand what's going on there. I think the fit and finish on this knife is really excellent.:thumbup:
