My JK Knife

Great looking blade. I really like the use of liners that stand out like that! The handle looks fantastic. I finally got my first JK and am now hooked.

how did that tip hold up with the driveway?

Not too bad. Chipped it a bit and rolled the edge in a couple of spots.

The Sharpmaker helped bring it back, though there is a difference in the edge where it hit concrete. I have an Edge Pro Apex on order and will give the blade a once over with that when it gets here.

My experience with Sharpmaker is that you have to clean off the stones constantly to get fast results. They get loaded very fast and that drastically degrades their ability to remove & polish the edge.

Sorry for the thread drift.

As to sharpening, I have become a fan of a convex edge. Use a leather on wood strop most of the time and wet/dry sandpaper on a mousepad when I need it.
Yesterday my son dropped a knife made of a quiet hard steel (CPM 3V) onto the tile floor and bent the tip.
It took not more than 20 min with wet/dry and the strop to repair the damage and get even that hard to sharpen steel back to shaving sharp.

BTW, that is an awesome looking knife. I really like the scales with the green liners.

I've found that too. When i notice it's not doing much i clean them. Mostly the brown stones.

Yupp, sharpens up nicely on the sharpmaker. Took it into the woods, put it through the paces and it still shaved. I just felt like sharpening it to get some burrs off. Beautifully crafted knife. Taking it out again later on today.
