If I had to do it over again, I would go 3/16". Not that there's anything wrong with the knife but I am not a big fan of thicker blades in general and John's O1 is plenty tough.

Fixed it for you. I`ve only made 7 knives in 1/4" stock.
Looks like I pulled a Homer there....DOH!
After I posted that I was wondering if it was actually 1/4" and I couldn't remember......I would go still go thinner.
