My Keffeler WIP

Well this WIP thread just got doubly interesting. Since I gave Dan the Super Assassin back he has agreed to make a Katana version of this sword so that I can have a matched set. The Katana is going to have about a 25" to 26" blade and approximately the same length tsuka. It will also have a deeper curvature to the blade.

We were both very impressed with James Aguilar's sheath work on the Super Assassin so more than likely he'll be making the sheaths for these as well. I was thinking of doing his kydex/leather hybrid sheaths. Not sure yet though what I want.
So... Super Samurai?:D

Little curious on intended use and whether or not you'll give a few whacks with it, given the premium status of CPM-3V.

very nice infi-del !
I've been looking for a maker to
get the ball rolling on a sword
design of my own for some time
now maybe this year will be THE
year it gets done ...

I intend to use them. Dan backs his pieces up 100% so I have no fear taking them out and using them. I'm not going to do any destructive testing with them. But I'm not gonna hesitate to chop down a tree with them either. Both pieces come from some long held "wants" of mine. Every single short sword I've ever owned, my complaint with every single one was that the handle was too short for my taste. I prefer an 11" to 12" handle because I'm a big guy with a wide frame. I've never cared for wakis with a single handed grip though I do own a few that I consider to be well balanced for one handed swords. Plus I've always wanted a really high quality matched pair. I might be able to talk Dan into making me a Tanto down the road to complete the set. And I wanted a katana that has the power of a long blade but wasn't too long. Something that was a bit of a compromise but could still do everything a full sized blade could do. I guess this is kind of a Chisa Katana and Waki pair. Both are kinda odd balls when it comes to dimensions. But both are right where I want my swords to be.

The Katana is likely going to have more relief grinds along the spine unlike the waki to help balance it out and keep from slowing it down. Dan is confident that the waki doesn't need it since its shorter blade length matched with it's longer tsuka make it handle really well and quickly despite being a chunky blade.

Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and I am not sure where to look or ask so I figured I would ask here since I see a lot of Keffeler owners and fans. I am looking to buy one of his Super Assassin swords so if anyone has one or knows someone selling one or can tell Me where I should be looking I would really appreciate it. I thank You in advance for any and all help. This is truly a great site.
