very cool stuff! very impressive!

so what else do you have?

any other pictures of that large grinder?

thanks for posting

jake

The design on those grinders is kinda cool the more i look at them. it looks very heavy! i wonder if there would be any vibration at all with a direct drive with all that mass?

I made 4 such a grinders, 3 of them were with direct drive, this one is my own and it was more convinient to use pulleys.
I have two frames cut with laser, but I dont have time to finish them, now I prefer to manufacture small tools, they are njt so time taking.

Grinder construction is optimized for my manufacturing opportunities, I have access to laser cutting, mig and tig welding and turning lathe but not milling :grumpy:
so I have only three milling operations in a construction.
vibrations mostly occure from inaccurate manufacturing and bad belts.

strahd71, my grinder is small one, belt legth is 48 and 36 inch
it is a problem to get longer belts in Russia

These look great... I'm just getting into machining, and there is a lot to learn to be able to make things like these, especially with such high quality. Pretty daunting.

Awesome tools! Very professional looking construction. I too am loving that grinder. It looks compact but useful, perfect size for my shop.

Very cool stuff. Pity you live in Russia; not sure I'd want to deal with customs and international freight. Like the compact grinders and the sanding table and such a lot.

Agreed. I'd like one of his vices and a grinder myself, but shipping would be hell.

i wonder if him and tracey from knife makers supply could work something out? i hate to pay a middle man but it would offer protection for both and tracey having a business might have an easier time with customs etc.?
