Yeah, laptops die a lot quicker than desktops and that's why I use one (desktop).

I'm waiting for a tablet that's worth its stuff; never buying another cRapple product again.

I'm a bit of a tech geek so I need something really good!
 
If it was a good laptop, spend the $50-$75 for a new hard drive, and you're all set. :thumbup: I've been given at least 5 laptops because they "died" and all they needed was a new hard drive. Some I fixed up and gave back to the owners, some said they didn't want it and bought something new. The one's they didn't want, I fixed up and sold on Craigslist.
 
I had the same happen a while back and wanted the cheapest option for home use, browsing, facebook, fantasy team - you know all the vitally important stuff. I bought an Asus 10" netbook from the site that sounds rhymes with new leg dot com. Got it for under two-fiddy including an external DVD drive. I had a clean Win7 disk. Formatted and clean installed Win7. Works like a charm and has plenty of power to stream netflix movies. Atom450 processor and 150G HDD. Battery life is close to 6 hours with standard battery.
