I’ve been wanting a Chris Reeves knife for a while but is way way out of my budget, so yesterday I texted a photo of the knife to my wife and she replied jokingly “oh that’s a beautiful knife, I just hope it’s not over $5000”. I took this for a sign and like the title of the thread reads as soon as she releases what I payed this will be my last knife 😆

I see why you think it will be your last knife. (If she uses it, it might be.)

My first Sebenza was going to be my last knife. A lefty model? Heck yes! But these are gun money, I'll be one and done....

5 1/2 years later, I own 16 CRK folders and 6 fixed blades from them. I've also broken the seal into higher knives and grabbed a Grimsmo Norseman, 3 Koenigs, 4 Arno Bernards, and a couple lefty Hinderers. Good luck!

That's like rule #1 : DO NOT DISCUSS THE PRICE OF KNIVES WITH SWMBO !
Rookie mistake brother .
You can always hide the knife (and all the stuff it came with ) and say : Just kidding . . . what knife . . . nah there's no knife .

My grail was a CRK and I settled with a large Inkosi. Some dozen knives with costs similar or above, I find the CRK a wonderful piece, but it clearly didn't curb the itch. It just ended draining my wallet faster once I knew what I could get for the $500+ price point. ;)

If it's out of your budget - I'd say don't do it bro. Not worth it in the long run.

It's also not worth it to put tension into marriage over a knife.
That is your wife doesn't also splurge. If she does - then it's different story, then go ahead...

As that'd be like her paying that much for designer bag...

I came into a bit of inheritance and still feel a crk is way out of my budget. So don't feel bad there, I bought a bemchmade and bit my lip at the cost and it isnt nearly as high as a crk base model. If you are buying the crk to use, id like to say there are plenty of excellent users in magnacut steel at a much lower price. But at the end of the day, you want what you want. If you get the crk, make it one helluva crk and get some use out of it
