My Late Father's Knives

Thanks everyone for the condolences.

My brother took a good chunk of dad's quality (Al Mar) knives but I got the gun so I can't complain too much. The springs in the gun are shot due to the heat and I am concerned about uneven brittle spots on the slide and frame. Going to take it to my old smith buddy Jack tomorrow. We used to do cryo treatments on barrels to relieve stress points and improve harmonics; I need to ask Jack if he thinks cryo would help since the gun was heated to such a high temp. Never heard of an entire weapon being cryo treated but it's the only thing I can think of to restore frame stability. Going to try and keep as much as I can of the original trigger assembly so I just ordered a 1911 spring set.
