I hope these are helpful pictures with the comparisons. I just got my M390 AFCK a few days ago and just got around to pictures. I haven't carried it yet but note that the AFCK doesn't fit in the BM box they are shipped in. It's a long knife. F&F is outstanding, came super sharp, blade work and edge grind is fantastic. Action is smooth, lock up solid and centering pretty close to center. All the comparison pictures of the open knives are lined up at the pivot.

So far I'm very happy. Enjoy the pictures . . .

Cool pictures Rick. Did yours have a loose pocket clip? The one I have has a really loose clip, I tried tightening the screws, but it seems to swivel from side to side a bit no matter what.

It doesn't . . . That sucks if you can't tighten it up for some reason. Have you cintacted Roger and team yet?

It's strange, the black one doesn't do that at all. I haven't spoken to Roger yet. I'll just call Benchmade on Monday and see if I can get them to send me some screws for the clip. I might have to take this one apart and have a look.

Mine didn't have that problem either, maybe the screws aren't getting into the liner?

Reeek, that is a beautiful knife:thumbup: In fact all your knives pictured are nice---must be hard to choose your EDC:)

Enjoy your weekend:thumbup:

Welcome to the family AFCK. Nice pics and nice collection.

I think I love this latest AFCK. Handles are sick and M390 is so nice...

I'm liking that hest can I see some hest, sng, smf shots? Since I have both sng and smf it will make it much easier to decide if I like the size.

Still waiting on my AFCK. I'm so glad they put this sprint run together. Doesn't get much better than that. Great pics!

It's a pretty nice knife. If I had one observation it would have been that the AFCK is already medium heavy so I would have paid a little more to have thicker blade stock of M390 for another half ounce of weight.

Great knife though and thanks everyone!

Gees, Reeek, you ought to post some photos. It would really help this thread. :)

Actually, I love this knife. The fit and finish are perfect. Mine came almost perfectly profiled and very sharp. I touched up the profile (15/15) and refined the edge. M390 is awesome steel. The only other steels I routinely get this sharp are M2 and 52100.

The AFCK has replaced my Military M4 as my EDC, which replaced an M4 AFCK, which replaced a Manix I, which replaced a Military BG42. Benchmade and Spyderco have really been turning out some nice steel.

Heh heh - :)

That is one testimony for sure, Twindog . . . And I agree that this is a good time for blade steels ;)

You might be right. I'll take the clip off the DLC version and see if it fixes it.

Rev, if that doesn't work then shoot me a PM. I had this problem on a couple of my Native 5's, and I found a very easy way to work around it.

I have found that the most common issue that makes a clip not stay secure is the surface area of the material underneath the clip. No matter how tight the screws are, if there isn't much surface area under the clip for it to have friction on then the clip will move. It's possible that the machining on the scales is leaving little surface area for the clip to "grab" on to. I could be totally wrong, but it's worth a shot. :)
