Hey guys,

Thought id share this little utility I made with ya.

quill.jpg

Specs:
154CM
61 Rc
OAL: 13.5cm (app. 5.5")
BL: 5cm (app. 2")
Handle: Red Mallee burl and mosaic pins.

I thought this design would be good in place of a stanley, or as a paring type knife. I am pretty happy with it; what do you guys reckon?

Love the handle, looks like a pretty thick piece of steel ya got there. Ill PM you my address think you could next day it to me :-D

What do you call it? If I can make a suggestion, I'd call it the "Teardrop". To me, that's exactly what it looks like.

I love the pins. It looks like it fits right in the palm of your hand too. :)

Or a carrott.

LOL... Wassup Doc?

I planned on calling it the "quill" cos it kinda looks like a fountain pen to me. Sorry, no overnightin' this one, its going to my dad for his b'day (to be put to good use on the farm). Thanks for the comments guys.

If I do have any for sale i'll put em up in the makers section when i pay up.

I agree with the thickness of the steel, but not in the positive way I think the guy I'm quoting did; to me, a knife that small should have fairly thin steel.

How thick was the 154?

Steel is 1/8" thick. Its leftover from some bigger knives. I may well do some in thinner steel when I come to do filleting knives or something.

does that knife have a sheath for it

Ill probably get one done on the weekend. I have another knife made now that needs one too so I figured id take them together to get the sheaths made. Itll probably be a folder style pouch.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Cheers.
