My Latest Knife Display Project

Very nice. I'm an accumulator rather than a collector so all my knives are users, but seeing those displays makes me think having some show pieces wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Convenient carry case, thanks for making it easy! All kidding aside, that is something to abe proud of for sure. Come on over and build me one or two now. I have pizza and cold beer. ;)
A few years back, someone posted a thread about going to the Kershaw factory (I think). Anyhoo, the was a picture of the cases in the lobby with all the Blurs, and Shallots, and Leeks, it was like a 6'x4' wall display with glass. It was amazing.

Think this is what you were thinking of.

Yeah I am currently saving to replace the tv lol, I have had that 27 inch since I was in college time to finally save some money, bite the bullet, and get something sweet.

Great case. They all look awesome on display. I have to fondle mine a few times a week so I can't put them in a case.

I'd put a small pin in the lanyard hole that just pokes through enough to hold but stays hidden partially inside the handle. Then use a magnet attached behind the backing to hold the blade end up. The fishing line doesn't look that bad in the pictures though and if it isn't noticeable in person then KISS works. I built a couple Blur displays and using magnets was a huge pain in the butt. I cut some chicken wire and metal strips and covered them rather than permanently mounting the magnets so that the knives are repositionable or swappable.

The displays in the factory all use magnets I believe. The Shun display along the one wall I'm not sure of. It has probably has as many knives as the rest of the area combined. The 3 or so pedestal stands on the ZT/Kershaw side just have knives laying. The back wall behind the pedestals though has magnets placed behind the blades and all of the knives are supported by the blade. I examined this closely when trying to design a display of my own. The Shun wall I think has their full current line up while the Kersahaw ZT side I don't remember having everything and didn't have much if any of the older knives. I know there is a large photo of a Tyrade and some RAMs that takes up most of the wall but the actual display with knives on the wall was not that large and didn't have any of the neat older knives like the Tyrade, Splatter Offset, Whisper, or other classics and award winners.

I seem to have lots of pictures of the outside and the production floor during the factory sale, but don't seem to have any of the reception area. RevDevil is correct but I'm unable to find the pics that someone had posted before. It may have been MQQN when he visited recently. Nevermind. I found it. [I see it above. I guess I should read the whole thing and not take all day to write a post!] Apparently my memory sucks and I was wrong about some things but you can look and see it for yourself. Searched for "MQQN Kawasaki Kershaw" :)

Very well done - I really like your idea for display.

That is a much better way to enjoy your knives that having them in boxes in a drawer - and now you can enjoy them everyday!

Thanks for posting your pictures!

best
