It's a cigar fork, no question. They were designed to let you actually finish your fine smokable, instead of tossing it when you got it too low to hold with fingers.

Thanks very much to all of you for your feedback and compliments. They are much appreciated. This is a photo of the bottom of the knife. The main spring supports the scissors in the middle layer. It looks like brass in the grooves of the spring. Never quite seen anything like it. Could be just a thin coating of somekind. Hopefully, someone here might know more about this type of construction and add to the thread. Thanks in advance.
