My Mad Dog Project Knife

Since a few of you asked about my project knife, I will update you with what I current have. I took a Mad Dog 1/4 inch Wombat and sent it to Johnny Stout for a conversion to a folder. The knife was done since the 1999 Blade show but I have to send it back for re-enforcement in the handle and to fix the broken stop pin. The enhancement is to ensure the folder can be used as a light chopper in a pinch. The knife satisfies my requirement for a heavy duty folder. I am considering having the whole knife coated sometime this winter.

Brethren and Cistern, Cardinal Dog pronounced a lifetime anathema on Namviet Vo as soon as he found out about that heinous sin against the Commandment "Thou shalt not fold thy knife," but we of the WB&C have been reconsidering that since then and debating how our fallen brother might redeem himself -- if he were to repent, that is; of course he may not be ready to repent, but if he is....

I have spoken to the Cistern and I am not opposed to rescinding the anathema if thou art willing to repent and do penance for the error of thy ways. Thou must make amends for thy sin, however. The Knife Gods are merciful but they also demand Justice.

If thou art repentant thou must make amends for thy sin by making a pholder into a real knife. The Knife Gods would prefer it be done by welding up the joint, but They are merciful and willing to settle for epoxy.

What wilt thou, Brother Namviet Vo? Wilt thou post a picture demonstrating thy repentance and be welcomed back into the fold? The WB&C awaits thy answer....

Hey, I actually handled that folder at the blade show, I think I was the one that noticed the broken stop pin first. I actually thought that Mad Dog made the whole knife! Goes to show you what I know huh? Hey Nam, how you liking the blade you got from me?
